Life Is But A Mere Fantasy

Life is but a mere fantasy,

A figment of the human mind,

Created to sheathe our consciousness,

Leaving our embodiments blind.

One may think that one is aware,

That one may know, that one may care,

But reality is vast,

As it dwarfs us, we are simply thin air.

The extent of our knowledge,

And the scale of what we can fathom,

Bind us to this humanity,

That is but a deep dark chasm.

We may never transcend our current state,

Not with anchors filled with hate,

That tether our being from breaking free,

Hope is useless if we can’t even see.
